In a sun drenched Conahy pitch Eamon Larkin got the match underway and St Martins were first to put a score on the board point from a free for captain Katie Nolan. Not too long after Katie Nolan again for St Martins with another point from a free, Conahy quick to react with their own score when they earned a free of their own No 14 Ellen Gunner stepped up.

St Martins took a shot from half way only to be collected by Ruth Phelan the Conahy goal stopper, pushing up the field a strike from No 11 captain Emma Mulhall put a point on the scoreboard.

With St Martins making quick ground they gained another free up stepped Katie Nolan to get another point

Battled Hard

Both teams battled hard in the heat with water being taken any chance the player could get before St Martins Hazel Moore got on the score board with a stunning point from play. The big battle of these team happened between the two 45 meter lines with Conahy getting a fantastic point from 65 meters courtesy of Emma Mulhall.

Hazel Moore responded with a point on the run for St Martins and Conahy were quick to push forward themselves gaining a free and getting the point from Ellen Gunner.

A good bit of this game was along the touch line near the team dugouts with both sides giving everything both sides of the white line.

St Martins pushed on with 3 more points from play a point a piece for Katie Nolan, Shona Ruane and Hazel Moore. Conahy went towards halftime with scores of their own thanks to a point from Katie Brennan and a goal for Ellen Gunner that somehow dropped into the St Martins goal from a free from around 50 meters out.

The second half got underway with St Martins taking charge of the scoring the next 5 points came from Captain Katie Nolan this onslaught from Katie put Conahy under pressure with every player going in for the sliotar with everything they had to try to make some ground. Conahy came away with the ball to get a point on the board from Ellen Gunner.

The final whistle was getting ever closer but both teams weren’t giving up, Katie Nolan back on scoring duty for St Martins with 4 more points, 2 from frees and 2 long and high balls from play.

After cutting her way through the stronghold of Conahy players Carlise Comerford pops over a lovely point for herself. Conahy got the final 2 points in this match, Ellen Gunner from a free and Emma Mulhall from play.
