Dicksboro continued their winning streak when they defeated city rivals James Stephens last Sunday morning in Palmerstown in the 3rd Round of the Michael Lyng Motors Senior League/Championship

Aoife Prendergast opened the scoring for the Boro with a pointed free in the third minute. Roisin Leahy equalised for the Village with a nice point from play, then Sophie O’Dwyer converted a free to put the Village ahead in the 6th minute

A minute later, Dicksboro worked the sliotar from defence through Jane Cass up to Asha McHardy who handpassed to Aoife Prendergast. Aoife hit a rasper of a shot to the back of the net

Sophie O’Dwyer & Aoife Prendergast hit over a pointed free a piece for each team

Ciara Phelan & Aoife Prendergast slotted over a point each for Dicksboro. In the 21st minute, Asha McHardy hit a bullet off the under side of the crossbar into the net to put Dicksboro 2-4 to 0-3 ahead

Aoife Prendergast scored a lovely point from play for the homeside

James Stephens added their 4th point with a great score from Hannah Scott who raced out of defence, soloed upfield and fired over from 50 yards out

Rose Kelly added the last score of the half with a point from play for the ‘Boro to leave the score 2-6 to 0-4 in favour of the homeside at the interval

Kelly opened the scoring in the second half with a fine point from play before Sophie O’Dwyer tacked on two points for the Village

The Boro added four points without reply, through Aoife Prendergast (2f), Orla Hanrick & Ciara Phelan to push them 10 points ahead

Then Sophie O’Dwyer tacked on two pointed frees for the visitors. Ciara Phelan added a point from play for the Boro before Hannah Scott hit another great point from 50 yards for the Village

Heading towards full time, Asha McHardy hit a point for the Boro to leave the final score Dicksboro 2-13 James Stephens 0-9

Dicksboro play Piltown in the League Final & James Stephens play Young Irelands in the Shield Final, both matches on Sunday 22nd September
