Mooncoin got the better of Barrow Rangers in this tight Abbott Intermediate County Semi Final in Pairc Lachtain, Freshford last Sunday
Niamh Crowley opened the scoring with a lovely point for Mooncoin. Roisin Breen equalised with a pointed free. Aine Aylward & Rebecca Holden traded points before Barrow Rangers hit two points on the trot through Roisin Breen (f) & Collette Dormer
Then Mooncoin hit back with two points of their own to level matters from Sarah Crowley & Laura Wall
Heading towards the interval, Roisin Breen converted a free & scored a lovely point from play after Collette Dormer gave her a neat pass, to leave the score 0-6 to 0-4 in favour of Barrow Rangers
On the resumption of play, Niamh Crowley scored a point for the southern team while Roisin Breen converted another free for Barrow Rangers
In the 38th minute, Niamh Crowley hit a rasper of a shot to the back of the net, to put Mooncoin a point ahead
They also scored the next two points through Aine Aylward (f) & Sarah Crowley. Roisin Breen slotted over two placed balls to bring it back to the minimum
Niamh Crowley & Ella Maher swapped points. Keelin Henebry scored a fine point for Mooncoin after a great run upfield from Sarah Crowley & she laid off an inch perfect pass to Henebry who slotted over
Roisin Breen tacked on a free for Barrow Rangers, but Henebry had the final say with a point for Mooncoin & the Referee blew the full time whistle a short time later. Mooncoin head to the Abbott Intermediate County Final in two weeks against Danesfort
