Dicksboro are through to the Michael Lyng Motors Senior County Final after defeating Tullaroan in Thomastown last Saturday
Aoife Prendergast opened the scoring for the Boro with a pointed free. Two minutes later, Jenny Clifford got in for a goal for the Boro after some neat play by Asha McHardy
Niamh Dowling had Tullaroan’s first score wit ha pointed free. She followed this up with a pointed 45’ a minute later
Dicksboro then hit three points through Amy Clifford, Caoimhe Dowling & a Aoife Prendergast (f)
Niamh Dowling then converted her third free for Tullaroan. The Boro hit the final three points of the first half through Aoife Prendergast (2f) & Jenny Clifford to leave the interval score 1-7 to 0-3 in favour of the Boro
On the resumption of play, Tullaroan fired over two points through Niamh Dowling (f) & Eleanor Doheny after the sliotar had come loose from a ruck
Orla Hanrick scored a great point for the Boro after Aobha O’Gorman had ran at speed towards the Tullaroan goal and she laid off a lovely pass to Hanrick. Aoife Prendergast converted a pointed free to stretch the lead for the City side
Tullaroan midfielder Katie Dunphy scored a lovely point after she fielded a clearance from her own defence, then Niamh Dowling slotted over a free for ‘the Sash’
Aoife Prendergast tagged on a point from a 45 after the Boro’s initial shot was saved by the Tullaroan goalie
Sinead Keoghan scored a great point for Tullaroan after she caught Ella Walton’s puckout
In the 56th minute, Tullaroan were awarded a 21m free after Miriam Walsh was fouled. Anna Doheny went for goal but it was saved by Cara Duggan & the sliotar was cleared upfield to Amy Clifford. Amy placed a perfect pass to her sister, Jenny & she rattled the back of the net
Aoife Prendergast closed out the scoring with a pointed free for the Boro to leave the final score Dicksboro 2-11 Tullaroan 0-8
Dicksboro now head to the Michael Lyng Motors Senior County Final in two weeks against Piltown
