Dicksboro opened their Michael Lyng Motors Senior Championship campaign defeating St Martin’s in Palmerstown last Sunday morning
Aoife Prendergast opened the scoring for the homeside with two points from placed balls. Katie Nolan scored St Martin’s first point with a free from midfield
The Boro then hit four unanswered points from Rachel Dowling (2), Aisling Browne & Jenny Clifford
Katie Nolan also got St Martin’s second score when she took a free from the 45m line & it flew straight into the net. Tara Roche converted another free for the visitors but the Boro finished the half stronger, scoring the final three points – Rachel Dowling, Amy Clifford & Rose Kelly to leave the interval score 0-9 to 1-2 in favour of the homeside
On the resumption of play, Dicksboro continued where they had finished the first half, hitting three unanswered point from Rose Kelly (deflected over the bar by St Martin’s goalkeeper), Rachel Dowling & Jenny Clifford
Tara Roche stopped the rot, though temporarily with a pointed free for the visitors
The Boro then hit four points through Aobha O’Gorman, Aoife Prendergast (f), Rachel Dowling & Rose Kelly
Katie Nolan slotted over St Martin’s last score in the 51st minute
Rose Kelly slotted over her fourth point in the 53rd minute before Aoife Prendergast tacked on another pointed free. Substitute Orla Hanrick scored a goal after a neat pass from Jenny Clifford
Rachel Dowling & Orla Hanrick closed out the closing with a point each to leave Dicksboro winners by 17 points
