Five-star Tullaroan secure big win over the Village

Tullaroan recorded their second win in the Michael Lyng Motors Senior League when they comprehensively defeated James Stephens by 19 points

Sophie O’Dwyer opened the scoring for James Stephens with a point from a free after 2 minutes, but Eleanor Doheny equalised for the homeside 30 seconds later

In the 4^th minute, Tullaroan’s full forward Grace Walsh fielded the sliotar, turned her marker and riffled a low shot into the bottom left corner of the net

James Stephens Centre Forward Lucy Coomey scored a great point from play

Niamh Dowling then hit two points for Tullaroan. Eleanor Doheny added to the Sash’s tally with a point from play. Grace Walsh scored another point for them after a neat pass from Beth Grace

James Stephens were finding it hard to get scores but after an initial shot was blocked, Michelle Teehan found Sophie O’Dwyer & she popped over a fine point

Then in the 22^nd minute, the flood gates opened. A great puckout by Tullaroan’s Ella Walton passed midfield, Grace Walsh was onto the sliotar in a flash, she looked up and saw an unmarked Niamh Dowling. Dowling received Walsh’s perfect pass & she drilled a low shot into the back of the net. Two minutes later, Grace Walsh was on the end of a neat pass, she took one step & hit an unstoppable shot to the back of the net. Walsh then hit her hat trick, when Beth Grace played a through ball into her and there was no stopping her finding the net

The Referee blew the half time whistle a short time later, with the interval score 4-5 to 0-3 in favour of the homeside

At the break, Tullaroan made two substitutes & within 55 seconds of the restart, Miriam Walsh had made an impact, scoring a great goal

Roisin Leahy pointed a free for James Stephens to temporarily stop the rot, but Tullaroan scored two more points from Ciara Dunne & Niamh Dowling

In the 44^th minute, Roisin Leahy scored a goal for James Stephens

Tullaroan hit the next three points through Ciara Dunne, Sinead Keoghan & Niamh Dowling, Laura Leahy scored James Stephens last point in the 52^nd minute

The Walsh cousins fired over a point each to close out the scoring to leave Tullaroan winners 5-12 to 1-5

Both sides play their final League game on September 6th
