Dicksboro are through to another Michael Lyng Motors Senior County Final after Thomastown in sunny John Locke Park last Saturday
Thomastown opened the scoring with a pointed free from Eva Hynes in the 2nd minute. Dicksboro centre forward Jenny Clifford then scored the next three points from play before Aoife Prendergast added a further two pointed frees to push the City side 0-5 to 0-1 ahead after 16 minutes
However, Thomastown didn’t panic as they hit the next four points themselves though Sarah Barcoe (2), Sophie McCabe and Captain Sinead O’Keeffe to level matters by the 21st minutes
Thomastown’s equalising point seemed to kick Dicksboro back into action again. Aoife Prendergast slotted over a free in the 23rd minute. Jenny Clifford then tacked on her fourth point of the afternoon before Prendergast added another pointed free to leave the half time score 0-8 to 0-5 in favour of the City team
On the resumption of play, Eva Hynes slotted over two points from placed balls to narrow the gap to the minimum, but this was as good as it got for Thomastown as Dicksboro took control of the match again
Aoife Prendergast slotted over a point from play, Amy Clifford added her name to the score sheet with two points
Thomastown did try to add to their tally, but could only add one further point from Anna Farrell
Aoife Prendergast converted another pointed free for the Boro & heading towards the final few minutes, Rachel Dowling slotted over a point from play
