Emeralds 3-10 Barrow Rangers 0-9
Emeralds are Abbott Intermediate Camogie League Champions after they defeated Barrow Rangers in Pairc Lachtain last Saturday
Emeralds opened the scoring with a pointed free from Anne Dalton after just 46 seconds. Noa Bambrick equalised for Barrow Rangers after the initial shot from a Roisin Breen free had been saved
Breen then converted a 45m free after she had been fouled herself. Anne Dalton equalised from another placed ball
Over the next 14 minutes, both teams tried to add to their tallies, but both defences stood strong until Anne Dalton slotted over a 21m free for Emeralds. Rebecca Holden equalised to leave the score 0-3 a piece after 23 minutes
Roisin Breen converted two frees for Barrow Rangers before Anne Dalton closed out the scoring for the first half with a free for Emeralds to leave the interval score 0-5 to 0-4 in favour of Barrow Rangers
On the resumption of play, Anne Dalton slotted over another free for Emeralds to equalise the match. Miriam Bambrick scored point for Barrow Rangers before the flood gates opened
In the 35th minute, Emeralds took a shot on goal, it was stopped by the Barrow Rangers goalie but Lucy Kavanagh was in like a flash & kicked the sliotar to the back of the net. The next score of the match was another goal for Lucy Kavanagh to put Emeralds five points ahead
Rhianna Scott tacked on a point for Barrow Rangers. Emeralds then hit 1-3 without reply, points coming Anne Dalton, Leyla Ahern & Louise Hickey. The goal coming after Anne Dalton’s shot had dropped short, Lucy Kavanagh reacted quickest and pulled on the sliotar & it flew into the back of the net
Roisin Breen converted a free for Barrow Rangers. Anne Dalton (45) & Emily Kavanagh added a point each for Emeralds
Heading towards the full-time whistle, Miriam Bambrick struck the last score of the match, a point for Barrow Rangers
The Referee blew the full-time a short time later & Emeralds were Abbott Intermediate League Champions
