Dicksboro are Michael Lyng Motors Senior Summer League Champions for 2026 after they defeated Piltown in Palmerstown last Friday

Piltown opened the scoring with a point from the Ruby Norris after 31 seconds. Sophie Holden added a point and Grace Farrell struck over a point from a 45 to put Piltown 0-3 to 0—0 after 3 minutes

Amy Clifford got Dicksboro off the mark with a point from play in the 5^th minute. Rachel Dowling added to the Boro score with a pointed free

Aoife Doyle pointed for Piltown before Dicksboro but four unanswered points from Amy Clifford, Jenny Clifford (2) & Rachel Dowling (f)

Doyle scored another point for Piltown to leave it 0-6 to 0-5 to the Boro after the first quarter

In the 17^th minute, Amy Clifford broke through the Piltown defence and hit an unstoppable shot into the net

Piltown hit two points from play from Sophie Holden & Ruby Norris with Rachel Dowling hitting back with two points for the Boro

Sophie Holden slotted over a point for Piltown. Heading towards the half time whistle, Piltown were awarded a free on the 65m line. Aoife Landers took a shot towards the Boro goal & Katie Power got a flick on the sliotar and it flew into the back of the net to leave the sides level on the score 1-8 at the interval

On the resumption of play, Rose Kelly hit a rasper to the top right corner of the net. Sophie Holden tagged on a point for the Southern side. Amy Clifford then slotted over two points for the Boro, Grace Farrell converted a free for Piltown & Leah Cooney also slotted over a point for them

Dicksboro scored the last four points of the match through Rachel Dowling, Asha McHardy & substitute Orla Hanrick (2) to leave the Boro winners 2-16 to -13

The Senior League/Championship starts on Sunday 16^th August – 1^st Round – Dicksboro v St Martin’s and Piltown v O’Loughlin Gaels and they will meet again in the 2^nd Round on 23^rd August
